
Head Coach – Certified as a USAW National Coach, Brittany has coached athletes of all ages in the sport of weightlifting from the ages of 6 to 74. She has produced some of the strongest youth, junior, senior, and masters athletes in both the state of Texas and USA. She has coached athletes of all ages to numerous state and national championships and taught beginners having never touched a barbell to stepping onto a national platform within one year. Brittany has coached with Team USA at the Youth, Junior, and Senior level since 2021 and traveled to Colombia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Cuba and Greece to coach Internationally.
Brittany has competed locally and nationally at the American Open Series since 2017 and placed top five at the Texas State Weightlifting Championships. She has learned from and been coached by some of the most respected weightlifting coaches in the United States including Mike Gattone, Pyrros Dimas, Sean Waxman, and Danny Camargo. Brittany currently trains under Jen Lester and is mentored by Danny Camargo. She is also an active athlete and competitor for Oly Concepts.
As an athlete, Brittany played basketball from an early age until her senior year. She was All-State in three sports throughout high school. While in college, Brittany raced professional motocross for two seasons until a career-ending injury in 2014. She was introduced to weightlifting through her participation in CrossFit and fell in love with the sport immediately. Brittany assisted in opening TSS Barbell’s first brick-and-mortar location in San Antonio, Texas in 2018 and left in 2020 to embark on her own journey to create Bexar Barbell. Under her leadership, Bexar Barbell has grown from a garage with 60 athletes and one coach, to over 240 athletes, 5 facilities, and 10 coaches. Head Developmental Coach – Nicole de los Santos Rucker is a USAW National Coach and CFL1 Trainer. She found the sport of Weightlifting through CrossFit back in 2012 and began coaching in 2017. Nicole placed 2nd at the Texas State Weightlifing Championships in 2022, qualified for American Open Finals in 2 weight classes and competed in Senior Nationals as a 64kg two years in a row. Nicole has been an athlete under head coach and owner Brittany Rucker, Daniel Camargo, and, currently, Brennen Colwell with Power and Grace Performance. Nicole coaches athletes of all levels including multiple state champs and a youth national champion. She has assisted in and coached athletes to qualifying at Youth, Junior, and Senior Nationals.
Growing up Nicole was on the dance team, ran cross country and track & field. Nicole graduated from Texas State University in 2014 with a degree in Music Education. Before moving to San Antonio, Nicole taught Elementary Music and Middle School Choir in Round Rock ISD while also coaching at Defiant CrossFit and was the Head Coach for their USAW Olympic Weightlifting Team. Jennett Perez is the Head Coach and founder of our Corpus Christi, Texas location. Jennett currently competes as a 71kg Weightlifter for Bexar Barbell and has competed locally and nationally since 2018. She has competed at Masters National and is currently qualified for Master Pan Ams. Jennett is a Certified USAW Level 1 Coach and ACE-CPT with a specialization in Youth Fitness. Jessi Oehler is a USAW L1 Coach and is the Head Coach of our New Braunfels location. She has coached athletes of all ages in the sport of weightlifting and CrossFit from the ages 9 of to 75. She has coaches athletes from beginners who have never touched a barbell and taken them all the way to national platforms.
Jessi has competed locally and nationally at the American Open Series since 2019. She has qualified for AO Finals and will be competing at Texas State Weightlifting Championship. She has learned from and been coached by some of the most respected weightlifting coaches in the United States including Brittany Rucker, Ursula Papandrea, and Jared Fleming.
Jessi is the Owner of Lokal Strength and has been an athlete her entire life. She was introduced to weightlifting through her participation in CrossFit in 2013 and fell in love with the sport immediately. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition.
Christian Ramirez has been a committed athlete of Brittany Rucker since 2017 and has competed locally in weightlifting since 2016.In addition to being a coach for Bexar Barbell, Christian is experienced in providing group instruction and personalized training for athletes of all levels.Christian is a Certified USAW L1 Coach and continues his education through studying the history and methods of weightlifting, powerlifting, and strongman.
Max has been working with coach Brittany since the end of 2016 and has been with Bexar since it was founded in 2020. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Strength and Conditioning with a Minor in Psychology from Appalachian State university. He is USAW L1 certified since 2017, has his level 1 Training for Warriors certification, Body Tempering certified in 2018 and has 4 plus years experience practicing with all different levels of clientele from professional athletes to everyday people trying to relieve themselves from aches and pains. Max was previously the co-owner of Tribe Fitness in North Carolina before relocating to San Antonio in 2022 to join Bexar’s coaching staff and help all athletes achieve their goals in this wonderful sport.
