Brittany Rucker
Head Coach | USAW Senior International Coach
Brittany Rucker is the Head Coach and founder of Bexar Barbell and a USA Weightlifting Senior International Coach. She has coached athletes across all ages and levels in the sport of Olympic weightlifting, from complete beginners to Team USA competitors, with athletes ranging in age from 6 to 74.
Brittany has produced national and international medalists across multiple age groups and has coached with Team USA at the Youth, Junior, and Senior levels since 2020. Her international coaching experience includes major competitions across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, including multiple IWF World Championships.
As an athlete, Brittany has competed nationally at the American Open Series since 2017 and medaled at the 2025 IMWA World Championship. She has trained under and collaborated with some of the most respected coaches in the United States, shaping a coaching philosophy rooted in technical excellence, long-term athlete development, and sustainable progress.
In 2018, Brittany helped open TSS Barbell’s first brick-and-mortar location in San Antonio before founding Bexar Barbell in 2020. Under her leadership, the team has grown from a small garage program into one of the largest and most successful clubs in the country, earning multiple state and national titles since 2021.
Brittany holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics from Texas A&M University and mentors USA Weightlifting coaches nationwide. She can be reached at brittany@bexarbarbell.com.
Neil Skroka
Coach | USAW Level 1
Neil Skroka joined Bexar Barbell as an athlete in 2021 and began coaching with the team in 2023. His background in strength training began with CrossFit in 2014 before transitioning into Olympic weightlifting, where he developed a strong interest in technical refinement and long-term athlete development.
As a competitive weightlifter, Neil has competed and medaled at the American Open Series. He has also supported athletes at local competitions, American Open events, and USA Weightlifting National Championships, and has served as a technical official at national USAW competitions.
Neil holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification and is known for his attention to detail, thoughtful coaching approach, and strong understanding of the sport’s technical and competitive demands. He is continually expanding his knowledge of weightlifting and strength training to better support athletes at all levels.
Aliber Garza
Coach | USAW Level 1
Aliber Garza is an athlete and coach for Bexar Barbell RGV and has worked closely with Brittany Rucker since the early years of the team. He began his journey with Bexar as an athlete and stepped into a coaching role in 2021.
Aliber is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach and a CrossFit coach at CrossFit Grande Valley, where he developed a strong foundation in strength training and Olympic weightlifting. As both an athlete and a coach, he has competed at the national level and has successfully guided athletes to qualify for and compete at USA Weightlifting National events in under a year.
Based out of CrossFit Grande Valley in Edinburgh, Texas, Aliber plays a key role in supporting and developing athletes in the Rio Grande Valley while upholding the same coaching standards and expectations as the Bexar Barbell headquarters.
